The Trailer

Attorney Jacob Lamb (Jake) was an attractive young man with confidence bordering on arrogance. Not yet thirty years old, Jake practiced law in rural Prada County, Oklahoma, where he was quickly becoming a legend (in his own mind so to speak). He was used to having his way in the courtroom dressing casually and mostly dominating the slowing intellect of elderly Judge Oliver Crandall. Now however, things were changing with the passing of Crandall and the seating of newly appointed Judge Jessica Sims. The thirty-two-year-old Judge Sims had a mesmerizingly pretty face, short, bobbed, and blonde hair, and a model’s body to boot. She was well versed on the exploits of one Jake Sims along with the remaining eleven members of the Prada County Bar commonly referred to as the ‘Good Ol’boy Club”. She was determined to put an end to the club’s shenanigans; they would toe the line with her or suffer the consequences, especially Jake Sims.  The battle lines had been drawn and the two would tangle in this short story, legal thriller…of sorts, ending with author Michael Brockett’s usual style of surprise endings.
